On Tuesday, UEFA officially confirmed about the upcoming changes in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League tournaments. From this fall, football fans will have to get used to the changes, and the fans of Italian football will probably be the most delighted with the news. From now on, "Serie A" clubs will have four guaranteed spots in the group stage of the tournament. In total, 26 clubs will automatically advance to the main tournament: champions, Europa League winners, representatives of the strongest European leagues (1-4, Spain, England, Italy, Germany) will have four spots each, 5-6 strongest leagues (France, Russia) will have two spots each, and 7-10 strongest leagues (Portugal, Ukraine, Belgium, Turkey) will have one spot each. If the winning team of the tournament demonstrates good results in the local championships, the winners of the Czech championship will also be guaranteed to play in the Champions League. No country can have more than five clubs in the group stage. Representatives of weaker leagues (from 11th place) will compete for the remaining spots in the knockout tournament, and teams that have experienced failures will have the opportunity to extend the season in the Europa League. Meanwhile, in the Europa League, Spain, England, Italy, Germany, and France will have two guaranteed spots each in the group stage, and 6-12 ranking leagues in local championships will have one spot each. Another ten clubs will join from the Champions League. The 2019 Champions League final will take place at the La Wanda Metropolitano stadium in Madrid, and the Europa League final will be held at the Olympic Stadium in Baku.
