Impressively excelling this season, Jordi Alba has only one problem - he no longer receives an invitation to the Spanish national team after the World Cup.
This situation occurred after Luis Enrique took over the reins of the national team. Despite both men working together at Barcelona, the relationship between L. Enrique and J. Alba has always been tense.
L. Enrique has repeatedly stated that the exclusion of J. Alba from the national team is not due to personal reasons, although no other explanation could be found - the left-back is undoubtedly one of the best in the world this season.
"I do a good job for my team, and as a reward for that, I would like to receive an invitation to the national team," Jordi Alba said on Saturday after a dramatically won game in which he made an assist.
"I do everything I can, my goal has always been to continue playing for the national team. I work for it and I am waiting to be on Enrique's list of candidates," added the defender.
This season, J. Alba has already scored two goals and made seven assists in over 15 games.
