It seems that Ernesto Valverde, who suffered a defeat in the King's Cup final, will not worry about his future at Barcelona club.
Earlier this season, Barcelona extended the contract with the coach, but the last weeks were particularly difficult for the Catalan club - besides losing in the King's Cup final, a huge blow was dealt in the Champions League.
After the match with Valencia, the club's president Josep Bartomeu defended the much criticized E. Valverde.
"He has a contract and is the coach of our team. This defeat to Valencia is not his fault. We created many opportunities, but the ball just didn't want to go in", - said the president.
"We have been thinking about the next season for some time. Now is not the best moment to describe what happened. We won the league, so we don't forget that.
I don't consider this season unsuccessful. It was not a fantastic season, but it was quite good. Two unsuccessful matches cost us two titles", - continued J. Bartomeu.
