Not showing great love for his former team after scoring a goal, Luis Suarez should not expect a warm welcome at Anfield stadium.
L. Suarez and Philippe Coutinho helped Barcelona defeat Liverpool 3-0 in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. One of the goals was scored by the Uruguayan, laying the foundation for this victory.
After the quarter-final match against Porto, Jurgen Klopp said that in the semi-finals against Barcelona, they will face exceptional matches against two former club legends - Suarez and Coutinho.
Commenting on these words after the recent match, Jamie Carragher stated that Klopp is not entirely correct in saying this: "I don't think they will be booed at Anfield, but Klopp made a mistake saying that they are two club legends."
"In reality, they are not. Liverpool has so many players who have won trophies and adorned themselves with European cup medals, so the last two do not fall into this category. The same goes for current players. None of them are legends until they win the most important trophies. There is no doubt that Suarez and Coutinho did a lot for Liverpool, but they left without giving their best career years here. They left elsewhere to win trophies. They are close to being legends, especially Suarez, who inspired the team in the fight for the Premier League title in 2014. If the team had succeeded, we could now consider him on par with Gerrard and Dalglish," - Carragher continued.
