Former "Liverpool" defender Jamie Carragher supports Steven Gerrard's decision to leave the team this summer.
The club captain announced today that he will be leaving for the MLS league after the season, where he is expected to join the Los Angeles "Galaxy".
"Due to Gerrard's news, today is a sad day for "Liverpool" and all of English football. However, I think that after considering all things, this is the right decision," wrote Carragher.
Discussions about the future of the Merseyside club legend began this fall, when the defender started receiving criticism for his declining performance. This led to coach Brendan Rodgers having to leave the veteran on the bench in several crucial matches.
In yesterday's "Premier League" match against "Leicester City", Gerrard returned to the starting lineup and scored a brace from the 11-meter mark. It was his 697th match representing the "Reds".
