J. Carragher on "Liverpool" defense: it's like watching children play football

Former "Liverpool" defender Jamie Carragher couldn't hold back after the 3:3 draw with "Sevilla" and strongly criticized the "Reds" performance.

"Liverpool" legend didn't spare criticism for the "Liverpool" defense, especially Alberto Moreno.

"Liverpool" team scored 3-0 against "Sevilla" in the Champions League match, but in the second half they conceded three goals and only managed to get a point.

"The big question before these matches was - can the "Liverpool" defense handle the atmosphere of "Sevilla". Before the match, I felt the answer was no, but I didn't think it would be so bad, especially in the second half.

I didn't think "Liverpool" would keep a clean sheet when they were leading 3-0, but the way they conceded goals and gave up control of the match - it felt like I was watching children's football.

When playing at their stadium, you need to silence their fans. "Liverpool" did that by scoring goals. But after the break, "Sevilla" just flew at them. The defense gave away silly penalties, which excited the fans, pumped up the players, and forced the referees to show yellow cards. Two goals came from set pieces.

Another penalty was in the penalty area from Alberto Moreno. It's unbelievable to see such a decision from a player who plays in the Champions League," Carragher said firmly.
