After undergoing a leg operation, it became clear that "Liverpool" will have to face the UEFA Champions League final without Joe Gomez.
The defender got injured during England's matches against the Dutch in March and recently returned to the field not fully recovered. The 20-year-old played through the pain against both "West Bromwich Albion" and "Stoke City," aggravating his injury.
Gomez seemed to be doing quite well for the "Reds" this season and appeared in a total of 31 matches. However, the young player will definitely not be able to help the Merseyside club against Real Madrid, and his injury will also prevent him from participating in the World Cup. Although he had hopes of going to Russia for a while, the bad news was confirmed by the Englishman himself on Twitter.
In the Champions League final, Liverpool will also be without defenders Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana, while Emre Can and Joel Matip have slim chances of appearing in the decisive match of the season.
Gutted to confirm that my season for both club and country is over... https://t.co/mwq8jOS8Rw
