The chief coach of Bayern Munich, Josep Guardiola, denied reports that the winger Xherdan Shaqiri will leave the team.
The 23-year-old Swiss national team member has been linked with English Premier League clubs, especially Liverpool. X. Shaqiri is not a regular starter, which has sparked rumors of a possible departure.
When asked by journalists about the future of X. Shaqiri and Emile Højbjerg, J. Guardiola replied: "I think they will stay. If they want something else, they should talk to Matthias Sammer."
The former Barcelona coach and player also stated that they should not expect any new signings in the near future: "Fewer players, fewer problems."
X. Shaqiri managed to play 15 matches and score two goals this season.
