One of the highest-paid players in the world Yaya Toure will have to watch this season's UEFA Champions League matches from abroad.
"Man City" club coach Josep Guardiola decided not to include the 33-year-old midfielder in the list of players registered for the tournament.
Earlier, the Catalan had reassured Toure by saying that "this season will require playing many matches".
However, the veteran did not appear in any "Premier League" match and only had a chance to play in the return leg of the Champions League qualifier against Bucharest's "Steaua".
