J. Heynckes becomes the oldest coach in Champions League history

Returning to Munich, the Bayern team coach Jupp Heynckes became the oldest Champions League coach in history. His return to the tournament on the old continent was marked by a 3-0 victory against Glasgow Celtic.

The 72-year-old and 162-day-old specialist broke the record previously held by Raymond Goethals. He coached Marseille at the age of 71 and in the 1992/93 season, he won the Champions League trophy.

J. Heynckes joined the team only last month when Bayern dismissed Carlo Ancelotti. This is the fourth time he has coached Bayern.

Bayern is currently in second place in Group B with 6 points, behind Paris Saint-Germain, who have three wins and 9 points.
