Former England national team defender Jermaine Jenas believes that Harry Maguire currently surpasses Matthijs de Ligt, who is sought after by all European clubs.
According to the Englishman, if he had to choose one of these players, he would not hesitate to give preference to the "Leicester" defender.
"De Ligt is still 19 years old and has great potential. He is a leader respected by other players, but I am convinced that Harry Maguire is currently a better footballer," said J. Jenas on the BBC radio show.
"If I were the 'Manchester City' club, I would not even think twice about buying Maguire instead of De Ligt. I think he is a top-class player. Look at his performance against the same 'Man City' - being a center defender, he was able to control the ball throughout the field and cause problems for the hosts.
Other than De Ligt being younger, I don't see what Maguire would do worse than the Dutchman," added the former defender.
