J. Kimmich: P. Guardiola is definitely missing from me

21-year-old rising star of Bayern Munich, Joshua Kimmich, says that he does not miss Pep Guardiola, as working with the Spaniard is now in the past. Kimmich, who arrived at Bayern from Leipzig in the summer of 2015, fully blossomed last season under P. Guardiola. The coach once said that their football connection is like that of a father and son. However, Kimmich was not inclined to share such memories and stated that it was just as pleasant for him to work with P. Guardiola as with other coaches. "I do not miss Guardiola, as in football, this is a daily occurrence (change of coach - ed.). I also worked with a coach at Leipzig who contributed to my development. It is not bad for footballers when coaches change, because you can learn something from each one," Kimmich said. "I do not see Pep as my football father. I think he said that too impulsively. Of course, Pep believed in me and for that I am very grateful to him. He helped me become a better footballer last season. But Ancelotti also believes in me. Until the winter break, I had a lot of playing time. I am glad how my career is developing so far, because not long ago I was playing in the second Bundesliga, and now I am a Bayern player and represented my country in the European Championship," concluded the young German football talent. Kimmich scored seven goals this season for Bayern in 22 matches, playing in a goalkeeper and defender position.
