J. Klopp does not plan to field A. Oxlade-Chamberlain in the middle of the field

"Liverpool" coach Jurgen Klopp praised newcomer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for his performance against "Manchester United", but hinted that he won't be given a role in the midfield anytime soon.

The 24-year-old footballer moved to Merseyside hoping to play in a defensive position, as he was not satisfied with being trusted only on the wings by London's "Arsenal" coach Arsene Wenger.

However, to the "Liverpool" manager, he primarily impresses as an attacker.

"I can't describe how happy I was to see Chambo playing like that", said Klopp.

"I said he needed some time and the most positive thing is that he finally regained his form, but it always takes time."

"I really liked his performance when he stepped onto the field. He is undoubtedly a huge acquisition for us, but for a fast player like him, he needs the right conditions, so he needed time."

"So far, everything has been okay, but not as we know he can. However, on Saturday he stepped onto the field with a bang, used his speed and was everywhere. It was a great sign, I liked seeing that."

True, after praising Chamberlain, Klopp then talked about his quickly fading desires.

"Without training and playing in the midfield, it doesn't seem sensible", added the strategist.

"At the moment, he only trains in midfield, so it's clear that when he starts (playing in the defensive position), it cannot happen without training in that 'number 6' position."

"It's not good for him and it's not good for us, and at the moment he is training on the wing."

"Now everything is clear, but I know it's a long-term thing, it's not decided for the next five years."

So far, Chamberlain has not started in any of the "Premier" league matches for "Liverpool".
