According to Daily Mirror, Jurgen Klopp spoke with Mario Balotelli about the possibility of bringing him back to the Liverpool squad.
It is said that the player, who is currently on loan at Milan, was offered the opportunity to prove himself once again in the English team.
"Klopp will try to help Balotelli's declining career by giving him another chance to prove himself at Liverpool," says Aaron Flanagan.
Balotelli's return to the team would be controversial. Not only did the player fail to show good performance at the club under Brendan Rodgers' leadership, but he has also been plagued by injuries throughout this season. Playing only four games for Milan, Balotelli scored one goal.
Such an attempt by Klopp to bring the Italian back to the club would be a rather desperate attempt to revitalize the "Reds" attack, which is facing quite a few problems. Daniel Sturridge is constantly plagued by injuries, Divock Origi is still young and inexperienced, and Christian Benteke has not yet lived up to the expectations placed on him, especially considering the £32.5 million fee paid by the Liverpool team.
Among other candidates to strengthen Liverpool's attack, the names of Alexandre Pato and Giuseppe Rossi are also mentioned.
