J. Klopp on V. van Dijk acquisition: the market set the price, not us

The head coach of "Liverpool", Jurgen Klopp, commented on the acquisition of his latest purchase Virgil van Dijk and urged the club's "Reds" fans not to pay attention to the footballer's price.

The media was shaken a few days ago by the news that "Liverpool" reached an agreement with "Southampton" regarding the acquisition of a center-back. V. Van Dijk will officially join the "Liverpool" team on January 1, and the club will have to pay a record-breaking sum of 75 million pounds sterling for him.

"I can imagine what people's reaction is to this price, but I am completely uninterested. We do not set the player prices, the market does it for us," said the German coach.

"The first thing that Liverpool fans should immediately forget about is the player's price. We can only talk about the player and what he can bring to our team. We talk about his playing quality, character, and similar things that we are very satisfied with.

Everyone followed van Dijk's season and knows that the first half did not go very well for him, but we also know the reasons why it happened. He is a big guy, and it is a bit harder for him to return to his normal playing seriously. However, we have enough quality in this position, and we will not put pressure on him.

He needs to adapt to our game because it will be a different style here, but we know he will do it successfully. Every year we receive new players, and each one of them contributes something to the team. We are confident that we are doing a good job in the transfer market," added J. Klopp.
