"Having received the FIFA Best Coach of the Year award, Jurgen Klopp did not forget to congratulate his colleagues who also contended for this prize.
The German, who won the UEFA Champions League with Liverpool last season, surpassed Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino in the FIFA rankings.
"I respect both of my colleagues," Klopp told the FIFA website.
"What Mauricio achieved last season was something incredible. Usually, when you don't win a title, people don't even remember you, but he was fantastic. He built the team step by step, keeping the players in one group.
"As for Pep, what more can I say? He has won so many titles, and his team plays exceptional football. There is nothing more to add - he is the best coach I have had to compete against.
"I feel greatly honored to have been nominated alongside him," Klopp praised both coaches without hesitation.
