J. Kloppas: "I don't understand why we start the season so early"

Already this Sunday, the teams "Liverpool" and "Manchester City" will compete for the first trophy of the season in the "Community Shield" match, and next weekend the "Premier" League will also start.

The coach of "Liverpool" team Jurgen Klopp expressed concern about such an early start to the season, as a significant part of his key players represented their national teams this summer.

“Someone needs to start this discussion. I didn't talk to Carlo Ancelotti about this situation, in the Italian Serie A there are also 20 teams, but they will start the season only on August 24. Kalidou Koulibaly played with Sadio Mane in the African Nations Cup and now has four weeks of rest.

I don't understand why we start the season so early. Next summer we have the "Copa America" and the European Championship, but it seems to me that we still start the same week. I don't understand that.

“The Premier League is a wonderful product that everyone would still watch. We don't need those two weeks when the championship is only happening in England,” said J. Klopp.

“I love football, I want matches to take place. From my personal point of view, we can play matches every week, I would like that, but someone needs to start taking care of the players, but obviously, no one is doing that.

Sometimes I start the discussion, but then I hear opinions that I am looking for excuses. We need to start thinking about these things, but nobody, especially in England, does that,” added the German.
