After the drawn lots, which paired the "Liverpool" team with "Manchester City" in the Champions League quarter-finals, "Reds" coach Jurgen Klopp was not too disappointed and stated that such draws can make "United" fans happy.
After the lots were announced, the German admitted that his team will not be the favorite of the pair, but emphasized that his team will not give in to future opponents.
"Nothing changes: we accept what we get. Now we face 'Manchester City', so we are preparing for the game against them and we will give all our strength to fight for a place in the next stage. This season we won against them once and experienced failure once, so I don't think that 'Liverpool' is the most favorable team for them in these draws.
We will not be favorites in this stage, but among the eight clubs there are not many favorites: only 'Bayern' or 'Barcelona', but they have not yet fought for advancement," the coach said.
J. Klopp also admitted that he has no problem facing a team from the same country and stated that such draws should have brought luck to the fans of "Manchester United."
"I have no problem playing against another team from England. I would even say that it is fun to compete in the Champions League against a team playing in your country.
These are perfect lots... for all 'Manchester United' fans," said J. Klopp.
The first match against "Manchester City" will be played at home on April 4, and the return leg at the opponents' field will take place on April 10.
