J. Kounde: 'It is disrespectful how players are treated, we are not robots' © AFP

Barcelona club defender Jules Kounde, after a 3-0 victory against Osasuna, was dissatisfied that this match took place once again after the national team break:

"There is a lack of respect in how they treat the players, as we are not robots.

We are angry about the dates of these matches... It is not normal. People need to clearly know that there is a problem with the schedule.

We are very lucky to do what we love; I consider myself a successful person. We live our passion and live well. But there is a lack of respect when the club is assigned such a match date.

It doesn't matter whether it's Barca, Osasuna, or Real Madrid when this happens... There is no respect felt for all players.

We are not robots who always have to perform great matches and give fans what they want... We need rest.

All institutions need to know this, not just La Liga. They cannot set dates that suit the schedulers... We don't need any excuses, as we are not doing that.

"When the time comes to listen to the players, then they cannot do what they want.”

26-year-old Jules Kounde has scored 3 goals in 44 matches this season.
