J. Lingardas: "It seems that depending on the opponents, our attitude changes"

"Manchester United" at the beginning of December scored two great victories against "Tottenham" and "Manchester City", but later followed two less successful performances - draws against "Everton" and a sensational defeat against "Watford". Attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard believes that such fluctuations in the game are related to the team's mentality. "It's quite strange. Maybe it's all about our attitude towards certain matches. Sometimes it seems like we go into matches as if we've already won them. If we could maintain the stability and mindset we showed in the matches against City and Tottenham, I don't see any reason why we couldn't win all the matches. It seems that our attitude changes depending on the opponents. In order to maintain stability, we must maintain the same mindset in all matches. When we start the match with the right energy, then we can cause a lot of problems," Lingard told "Daily Mail". The 27-year-old Englishman also revealed that he is ready to take on a leadership role on and off the field. "I am like a link between young and more experienced players. At the beginning of the season, I said I wanted to become a leader off the field. I was always important in youth teams. I want to take on this role in the main team and become an important figure both on and off the field," added Lingard.
