The head coach of the German national team, Joachim Low, believes that their opponents, the Italians, are stronger this year than in 2012 when they reached the final of the European Championship.
The Germans will face Antonio Conte's side in Bordeaux on Saturday. In the group stage, they managed to surpass Northern Ireland, Ukraine, and Poland, and in the quarterfinals, they secured an excellent victory against Slovakia.
Meanwhile, Italy eliminated the defending champions Spain, leaving behind Ireland, Belgium, and Sweden.
"I am greatly looking forward to this match," said Low. "Italy looked impressive in the game against Spain."
"The Italians work very well in defense and are strong in attack. Their team is better than in 2012."
"We need to avoid Italy's counterattacks and prepare a good offensive plan."
Low will also try to benefit from the experience of Sami Khedira, who plays for Juventus in Turin and knows the opponents' defenders well.
"Sami Khedira is a smart player, so I will ask for his advice before the match against the Italians," added the strategist.
It is worth remembering that in the semifinals of the last tournament, the Italians sent the German national team home.
