The German national team ended their winning drought and for the first time since the World Cup match against Sweden proved superiority against their opponents.
The Germans won 3-2 against the Netherlands in their first European Championship qualifying match after a fierce battle. Joachim Low's team had a two-goal advantage after the first half, but achieved victory only in the last minute of regular time.
In the second half, the Dutch, applying high pressure, equalized the score within the first 20 minutes. J. Low was not satisfied with the second half of the match, but was pleased that the team did not lose faith until the referee's final whistle.
"The first half was excellent, we had complete control in our hands. In the second half, they scored at the worst possible time. Nevertheless, this is a process that this young team must go through," said the coach.
"The most important thing is that we did not lose faith. Today, we received the success that had eluded us in previous matches," added J. Low.
