J. Mourinho about the conflict with M. Sarri's assistant: "I accepted his apology"

Jose Mourinho accepted Maurizio Sarri's assistant Marco Ianni's apology for what happened at the end of a crucial English Premier League match.

Manchester United clinched a late 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with Ross Barkley netting the equalizer in stoppage time. Following the equalizing goal, Sarri's assistant got so carried away with the successful episode that he ran past Mourinho's dugout, clearly provoking the Portuguese coach.

Mourinho couldn't contain his anger and went after the assistant, who had already left the stadium access areas by the time the coach chased him. The Man Utd manager didn't hide his anger over the Chelsea staff member's actions, but after emotions calmed down, everything was resolved peacefully.

"Sarri was the first one to come to me and said he would personally resolve this problem with his assistant. After a talk with Maurizio, he came to Sarri's office and apologized to me. Without waiting, I told him: 'If you feel you behaved wrongly and truly want to apologize to me, I accept it. Forget about it, because throughout my career, I have also made many mistakes. I'm not going to kill you for what you did'," Mourinho said sarcastically.

After the match, Mourinho found himself in an unpleasant situation with Chelsea fans for the first time. The 'Blues' supporters offered him to 'f*ck off', and he responded by showing them three fingers. By doing so, Mourinho wanted to remind them that it was during his time at their club that he won three Premier League titles.

"I didn't receive any respect from Chelsea fans, but that's not my responsibility. What I did today, I would do it in Madrid, Milan, and Porto as well. The fans' reaction doesn't affect me," Mourinho added.
