Jose Mourinho thought that Memphis Depay did not achieve good results in the "Manchester United" team because of lack of versatility.
Memphis, who was bought to strengthen the left side of the Manchester team, was the first purchase in 2015, but in the same season Anthony Martial seamlessly moved to the winger position, pushing the Dutchman to the bench.
"If I had to name one reason, I would say he is a one-position player - that position is overcrowded in our team," - said the Portuguese coach after Memphis left the team.
J. Mourinho revealed that during the six months they spent together in Manchester, he noticed the player's professionalism: "It's hard for me to answer why he didn't succeed. He was a great professional, if anyone thinks he didn't work hard because he didn't succeed, that's nonsense. If someone sees him in a fancy car or wearing strange clothes, it doesn't mean he didn't try and work. That kid deserves respect, I can't say bad things about him."
