J. Mourinho explodes on social media: "Sterling had to be removed from the field"

Jose Mourinho after the victorious match against "Manchester City" claimed that London's "Tottenham" should have gained a quantitative advantage already at the beginning of the first half.

In the 12th minute, Raheem Sterling was shown a yellow card when he raised his foot against Dele Alli. Despite the fact that the episode was reviewed by VAR officials working in the control room, the striker managed to avoid the harshest punishment.

J. Mourinho stated after the match that the decision was not correct.

"I am extremely pleased with the performance of my boys. I won't hide that we were lucky in some situations, but there were also moments when things went in favor of our opponents, for example, when VAR decided that Sterling should not receive a red card," - said the Portuguese after the game.

"It was a very clear red card. We would have had a completely different match if we had to play against ten "Man City" players for the remaining 75 minutes.

In other situations, like with Son in the match against "Chelsea", a red card was shown, but not here. Nevertheless, the guys were phenomenal today. Lloris' saved penalty was fantastic. God knows there was no penalty kick," - spoke J. Mourinho with a smile on his face.

Exactly after the mentioned penalty kick episode, the incident with J. Mourinho and his assistant exploded on social media. In the 40th minute, Ikay Gundogan failing to score the penalty, R. Sterling received the ball in the penalty area and after a collision with H. Lloris fell to the ground.

VAR reviewed this episode, however, did not award a second penalty kick at "Tottenham" gates. J. Mourinho broadly grinned after this decision on the substitute bench, but then his assistant remembered that R. Sterling already had a yellow card and automatically should receive a second one for simulation.

Agreeing with the assistant's opinion, J. Mourinho quickly ran towards the fourth official and tried to convince that R. Sterling should be sent off the field. The coach's reaction and the quickly changing mood in a matter of moments not only had an impact on social media users but also brought smiles to the faces of studio experts.
