J. Mourinho hopes that two more team players will follow T. Alderweireld's example

Jose Mourinho hopes that at the end of the season, he won't have to say goodbye to Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen.

Both footballers' contracts with London's Tottenham expire this summer. Eriksen has been linked with a departure since the end of last season, so keeping him will be a particularly difficult task.

Recently, Toby Alderweireld extended his cooperation with Tottenham, whose previous contract was also set to end after the season.

"The only thing I can say about Christian is that I would be very happy if he signed a new contract," - said J. Mourinho. "As for other matters, I cannot talk about that."

When asked the same question about J. Vertonghen, Mourinho simply nodded, showing that he wants this player in his team.

"My opinion on contracts is that only the club has the right to offer a new contract. Then come the wishes of the player, his family, and agent.

If any part of this chain does not want that, reaching an agreement is very difficult. These things are usually resolved with a single change - a new agent," - added J. Mourinho.
