J. Mourinho: "I don't think we are a highly desirable opponent in the round of 16"

Having finished their performance in the UEFA Champions League with a defeat, Jose Mourinho believes that London's Tottenham will be much better prepared in the next stage of the tournament.

On Wednesday, Tottenham lost 1-3 to Bayern Munich in an away match. The Spurs finished in second place, so they will face a potentially strong opponent in the quarterfinals.

As J. Mourinho stated after the recent match, teams that finished first in their groups probably won't be happy if Tottenham's ball is drawn in the draw ceremony.

"I think teams that finished first won't want to play against us," said the Portuguese. "I believe we are one of the strongest teams that finished second in their group."

"I know we still have a tough period to get through before the quarterfinals, so anything can happen. But as I imagine it now, until February we will have enough time to get to know each other better. I have two more months to get to know the players better, and the players to know me. I think we will be much better prepared in February.

These matches against Bayern didn't tell us anything. We were in a difficult situation, as most players needed rest and we had fewer players available for the fight. I have no doubt that with a different lineup we would have fought for a different result," added J. Mourinho.

Tottenham could face PSG, Juventus, Valencia, Leipzig, or Barcelona in the quarterfinals.
