Football pundit currently working Jose Mourinho admitted that in Madrid's "Real" club he had an experience that he would not have gained in any other club in the world.
The 56-year-old football specialist led Madrid's team from 2010 to 2013. J. Mourinho threw down the gauntlet to then equals in both Spain and Europe, Pep Guardiola's "Barcelona."
"Working with Madrid's 'Real' club was the best experience I have gained both as a coach and as a person. All the lessons learned in this club I applied to my career and life," Mourinho told Portuguese television.
"Until now, those moments are the best in my career, it was something fantastic," the strategist continued talking about his work in the Spanish capital.
Florentino Perez aimed to end Barcelona's domination with Mourinho's arrival. As the Portuguese himself claims, such a challenge was exactly what he as a coach wanted.
"What 'Real' asked me to do best matched my nature," said Mourinho.
"We had to stop the Barcelona team from further crushing us, so the victory in the King's Cup final of 2011 was my most important trophy at the club.
After this triumph, everything changed radically. Later we also won the 'La Liga' championships, the Super Cup, but nothing compares to the triumph in the King's Cup.
My only disappointment is that I failed to lead the team to the top of the Champions League," Mourinho concluded, whose "Real" team fell in the Champions League semi-finals three times in a row.
