"Sky Sports" pundit working José Mourinho commented on the situation at his former club.
Last season, just before the new year, the Portuguese was sacked from "Manchester United" club and does not believe that the team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken a step forward.
When asked if he sees "Man Utd" as a team that can reduce the gap with the top two teams, J. Mourinho said: "They are far from that. I do not think I am the right person to answer that question."
"In the first two years in the club, I saw many positive things and felt the direction we needed to go. In the third season, of course, things didn't go so well. I was fired, and probably rightly so, because ultimately the coach is responsible for everything.
However, the reality is that "Man Utd" now looks worse than before. I am truly sad for them. Maybe most people think that I am enjoying this situation, but that's not true.
There are many people in this club whom I still love. I have great respect for the fans, and the current situation truly saddens me," - the strategist affirmed.
Last season, when the team was still led by J. Mourinho himself, after the first six rounds in the "Premier" league the team had 10 points, this year - eight.
