J. Mourinho: not all poets become winners

"In the cozy corner of the word not seeking controversy, Jose Mourinho did not hide his joy after winning the UEFA Europa League trophy and mentioned the winning mentality of the players.

The team led by Jose Mourinho, Manchester United, yesterday won the Europa League final with a score of 2-0 against Ajax from Amsterdam and secured a place in the Champions League group stage for the 2017-18 season.

Despite the fact that the "Red Devils" remained in a precarious position in the Premier League, J. Mourinho brought three titles to his club this season - also winning the Community Shield and the English League Cup trophies.

Immediately after the final, when asked about the overly defensive play of his team, J. Mourinho didn't beat around the bush: "There are many poets in football, but not all of them become winners."

"I am satisfied with my guys and the whole season, which was one of the toughest in my career. Three titles to fight for and qualification for the Champions League is certainly not bad. I think the teams that finished in 2-4 places in the Premier League would have been willing to end the season like us.

"I am happy for the club, which became the first to win all possible trophies. We really wanted to return to the Champions League by winning this tournament," added the Portuguese.

When asked about possible summer transfers, J. Mourinho only mentioned that he has given his candidates to the club's management, and now he wants to take a break from football for a while."
