London's "Tottenham" team had to put in a lot of effort to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the 5th round of the UEFA Champions League.
In Tuesday's match against Piraeus' "Olympiacos," the visitors scored two goals in the early stages of the game, causing some panic at the "Tottenham" stadium. However, Jose Mourinho's players found ways to fight back and achieved a 4-2 victory.
After the match, J. Mourinho received the most praise not for the players, but for the ball boy of the "Tottenham" team. It was because of him that the "Spurs" scored their second goal in the second half.
"To do that, you have to be a really good ball boy, – said the Portuguese in a press conference. – He was 'reading' the game and not looking at the stands. I wanted to invite him to the dressing room and celebrate together with the players, but he was already gone".
Talking about the match itself, J. Mourinho did not hide that he did not expect such pressure from the opponents at their own stadium.
"We secured a place in the quarter-finals and that is the most important thing for us as a club and for our fans. The match was definitely not easy. 'Olympiacos' is a well-organized team, and they attack with great confidence.
"I did not expect the boys to face such pressure at home. Instead of changing tactics, I told them to relax, play boldly, and believe in what they do", – added the coach.
Jose Mourinho makes sure the ball boy gets the respect he deserves for the assist ????????????
