J. Mourinho tells the story of trying to deceive UEFA almost drowning in a laundry box

55-year-old Jose Mourinho revealed how he once deceived UEFA representatives while working as the coach of the London club "Chelsea", writes lrytas.lt.

In a "BeIN Sports" show, J.Mourinho recalled events that took place 14 years ago.

Before the UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against Bayern Munich (Germany) in 2005, "Chelsea's" strategist was disqualified for two matches and he could not have any contact with the players on the day of the match.

However, J.Mourinho decided to secretly and illegally enter the "blues" changing room.

"Yes, that really happened. I absolutely had to be next to the players. And I succeeded. I came into the changing room on the day of the match during lunch, when the game was supposed to start at 7 pm. I wanted to be there when the players gathered. No one saw me," - J.Mourinho is quoted by "Daily Mail."

The Portuguese remembered that it was easier to enter the changing room than to leave it.

"Stewart Bannister, who was responsible for the team's equipment at Chelsea, put me in an iron box with dirty laundry. He lifted the lid slightly so I could breathe. When he was carrying the box out of the changing room, UEFA representatives followed him, who were very eager to find me.

So S.Bannister had to close the lid. I almost suffocated and almost died. I'm telling you seriously. I was close to death. And that's the truth," - said J.Mourinho.
