J. Mourinho: the draw would have been the most predictable result

The head coach of "Manchester United" Jose Mourinho returned yesterday to where he started his career as a "Premier League" coach, but the return to Stamford Bridge stadium was not the most successful.

"Chelsea" in front of their fans defeated "Man Utd" with a score of 1-0 and forced the opponents from Manchester to stumble for the second time this season. The only goal by Alvaro Morata's header sealed the victory for the hosts.

J. Mourinho said after the match that both teams played quite similarly, both were good defensively, but at one moment a loss of concentration cost dearly. According to the Portuguese, a draw would have been the fairest result.

"It was a big match where two strong teams met - tactically, emotionally, and physically. Of course, we were lacking a few important players who could not play yet, but soon we will have them back," said J. Mourinho.

"It was almost clear that the first team to score a goal will win in these matches, because both we and they were strong defensively. They scored first and later felt comfortable. After conceding a goal, we were a bit unsettled. It was hard for us to regain focus, but we did it and returned well to the game.

We took the initiative, showed courage with the ball, and had several chances to equalize, which, in my opinion, would have been the fairest in this match," added the coach.

"Man Utd" remains in the second position in the league table after the loss, but the gap from the leaders has increased to 8 points.
