J. Mourinho: "We will never be kings of the transfer market"

Jose Mourinho acknowledges that he will not be able to spend as much at London's Tottenham club as he did at previous teams. The Portuguese, who joined the North London club last month, believes that Tottenham players do not have the same status in the transfer market as other top European clubs. "I am at Tottenham, so I know the possibilities, project, vision, and goals of this club. I also know that in the transfer market we will have to react to what can happen to us," said J. Mourinho. "If any player wants to leave, we will have to accept it. We will never be the kings of the transfer market and won't fight for our targets in the same way other clubs do, who can throw money around for a desired player. We must pursue our goals intelligently and creatively. Also, I want to repeat that I like the players I have now. The more I work with them, the more I get to know them and understand their strengths and weaknesses. I have said before that I still need time. I'm not talking about a few days, I'm talking about January and summer when we will have more time to improve where needed," added the coach.
