Having started gearing up for the new season, "Manchester United" footballers secured a victory in their first match away against "Wigan Athletic." In Jose Mourinho's debut match, the "Red Devils" celebrated a victory.
The first half was not very attractive. The visitors controlled the ball, but failed to create any dangerous moments. Memphis Depay had perhaps the best opportunity to score, but after a great pass from Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the Dutchman was unable to direct the ball into the empty net from a close distance.
On the other hand, "Wigan" players did not take any significant actions in attack and clearly conceded control of the game.

The second half started slightly more actively. After a substitution, Ashley Young burst into the penalty area, but failed to make the final pass.
Nevertheless, after a few minutes, "Wigan" were forced to pull the ball out of their own net. Goalkeeper J. Jaaskelainen made a big mistake in trying to clear the ball away from goal, but Juan Mata intercepted it and passed it to Will Keane, who simply had to direct the ball into the empty net.
Less than ten minutes later, academy graduate Andreas Pereira also made his mark. Ashley Young made a ground cross during a penalty kick, and after a shot from one of the "United" players, the ball bounced right to the Brazilian, whose shot was unstoppable for the "Wigan" goalkeeper.
During the remaining time, the teams did not create any memorable episodes, and the referee blew the final whistle.
