Long-time London "Chelsea" team player John Obi Mikel returned to England, but not to the Premier League. The Nigerian joined the "Championship" team "Middlesbrough" and signed a short-term contract with them.
"He has a winner's mentality and wants to be here to help us achieve our goals," said coach Tony Pulis about the new team player.
J. O. Mikel spent even 11 years in the ranks of "Chelsea" and with this team he triumphed twice in the Premier League and League Cup, once in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, and lifted the FA Cup four times.
His last position as a defensive midfielder was in the Chinese top league, where he defended the honor of the "Tianjin TEDA" team.
