England national team goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has stated that he is better than David De Gea was at the same stage in his career.
Manchester United's pillar has been considered the strongest player in his position in the entire Premier League for several seasons now, but the Everton representative feels a lack of confidence in himself.
However, the Englishman emphasizes that he simply adapted faster to the highest division of English football.
"De Gea has been unbelievable for the past two or three seasons and is likely the best goalkeeper in the world at the moment," Pickford said. "This is only my second season in the Premier League. De Gea needed some time and I don't think it took me as much to reach his level."
The 24-year-old footballer also added that he doesn't feel arrogant, but rather has self-confidence. He also revealed that he has always looked up not to the biggest stars, but to Joe Hart.
