Jonjo Shelvey believes that the main priority for "Newcastle United" this summer should be retaining manager Rafa Benitez.
The Spaniard, who led the club back to the Premier League, managed to keep him here despite having almost no resources for new players.
Due to this fact, his future in the "Magpies" ranks remains unclear, as he was dissatisfied with the lack of support from the board at the beginning of the season.
"I have a feeling that the coach will stay and we will continue to grow. This will probably be the most important thing this summer - to ensure that Rafa stays," Shelvey told "Sky Sports."
"When I arrived at the club, there was almost no connection between the fans and the players, and he just turned the whole city upside down."
"The atmosphere in Newcastle is great now. Wherever you go, fans always talk to you."
"He turned everything upside down."
Benitez's team currently occupies the 10th place in the English championship.
