In the past, the coaching career of the famous Dutch footballer Jaap Stam did not unfold as successfully as he would have liked.
The former defender of "Zwolle", "Cambuur", "Willem II", "Eindhoven", "Man United", "Lazio", "Milan" and "Ajax" took up coaching three years ago. This year J. Stam became the coach of Rotterdam's "Feyenoord", but he only held this position for seven months.
This season in the Dutch "Eredivisie" championship, "Feyenoord" won only 3 out of 11 matches. Last weekend, the Rotterdam team lost 0:4 as guests to Amsterdam's "Ajax", conceding all four goals in the first half.
After this painful defeat a couple of days ago, the 47-year-old coach himself submitted his resignation.
"I thought about it for a long time and decided that if I leave, it will be better for both the players and myself," said J. Stam.
With 14 points from 11 rounds, the "Feyernoord" team currently ranks only 12th in the Netherlands.
