“Manchester United” this summer will seek to acquire a new center-back, and one of the most realistic contenders for a long time was considered to be “Nice” representative Jean-Clair Todibo.
However, it seems that UEFA rules will pave the way for the transfer of the 24-year-old Frenchman to Manchester.
“Nice” is owned by the INEOS group, which recently acquired a stake in “Man Utd”. It is likely that this connection between the clubs will not allow J. Todibo to move to “United”.
UEFA has issued recommendations for clubs owned by the same shareholders, prohibiting transfers between such teams in order to demonstrate independence.
This is particularly relevant for “Nice” and “Man Utd”, both of which will play in the UEFA Europa League next season.
