J. Valdano returns to Madrid's "Real" club

It seems that Madrid's "Real" will have a new sports director. Jose Angel Sanchez, who has held these positions so far, will no longer be responsible for the team's "design" tasks and will focus more on improving the club's finances.

"El Confidencial" reports that Jorge Valdano will return to the club, where he has previously served in management twice. Until 2005, he was the sports director, and in 2009 he returned as general director and advisor to the president.

In 2011, he was dismissed from his duties when his relationship with Jose Mourinho deteriorated, and later with Florentino Perez as well.

J. Valdano is known for his intelligence and a different understanding of football, closer to Johan Cruyff's ideas. It was precisely because of the differences in opinions with J. Mourinho that the Argentine lost his job at "Real" club.

According to the source, J. Valdano and F. Perez have forgotten past disagreements and will now restore cooperation. It is believed that J. Valdano, along with Z. Zidane and F. Perez's approval, will be responsible for building the team's "structure" and developing its style.

Z. Zidane has been unhappy for some time that the previous sports director purchased several young players without his approval, including Dani Ceballos, to whom the coach could not guarantee playing time in the first season.

"El Confidencial" notes that one of J. Valdano's priority purchases this summer will be "Real Betis" midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, who is liked by both him and Z. Zidane.

J. Valdano is known in the "Real" club not only as a former director - he also wore the club's jersey as a player and coached the first team for two years.
