J. Vardy defends D. Alli, who made an inappropriate gesture

At the World Cup match, promising English player Dele Alli tarnished his reputation.

During the game against the Slovaks, the 21-year-old athlete was caught on camera showing his middle finger.

After the match, there were talks about possible investigation or even disqualification for the player.

According to his teammate Jamie Vardy, it's not a story worth paying attention to.

"Middle finger? Come on, it's not harmful to anyone, right? It was just a blown up situation," the forward said.

This was how Alli responded to his teammate Kyle Walker's post on Twitter. "There will be a strict punishment if FIFA decides to impose sanctions."

Alli also justified his behavior:

"I wanted to clarify - it was a joke between me and my good friend K. Walker. I apologize if I offended anyone," Alli reassured.
