One of the brightest stars of "Leicester City" team, Jamie Vardy, claims that he does not regret at all the decision to reject London's "Arsenal" offer.
Before the 2016 European Championship, the future of the 29-year-old footballer was widely discussed. "Arsenal" was willing to pay the buyout clause in his contract, but J. Vardy hesitated and turned down the opportunity to play for the "gunners" team.
"Rejecting the offer from 'Arsenal' was not as difficult as I thought," said J. Vardy. "At that time I was far from England, so the deal was definitely not finalized. I didn't speak with any representative of that club."
"I still have a lot of unfinished business in Leicester. I see that the club has its own goals and is moving forward. It is for this reason that I want to be a part of the team," the striker shared his thoughts with "Sky Sports".
J. Vardy was also asked about Riyad Mahrez's future: "I think the whole team wants him to stay with us and play. But it is not up to us and it is only Mahrez and the club's matter."
On August 7th, "Leicester City" club will face their first serious test of the new season. The "foxes" will compete for the "Community Shield" trophy against "Manchester United".
