J. Vardy: Vodka and "Skittles" Blamed for Lengthy Rehabilitation after Injuries

"Leicester City" star Jamie Vardy regrets in his autobiography that his favorite drink, combined with "Skittles" candies, did not help him heal injuries faster.

The book, which will be released with the help of the newspaper "The Sun", portrays the sniper's journey from non-professional football to triumph in the Premier League.

In one part of the book, the Englishman really opened up.

"I had a groin injury - a completely routine injury, but it took decades for it to heal," Vardy recalls. "I had a 3-liter bottle of vodka at home and added a lot of 'Skittles' to it.

"When one bag was fully dissolved, I added another - but only red and purple candies, as I don't like orange, green, and yellow. I probably refilled a new bag about 20 times. Then you can easily drink the vodka and its taste is like 'Skittles'.

"When I was bored at home in the evening, I poured a glass, settled in, and enjoyed it. The vodka was great, but it really didn't help my injured foot, its bleeding never stopped for ages."

"Physiotherapist David Rennie said he couldn't believe it wasn't healing. He had seen missing groin muscles heal faster. One day, when there was no one around, he dragged me into a corner and asked, 'What are you doing?' I replied, 'Nothing special.' Then I explained that I usually drink 'Skittles' flavored vodka."

Remember that last season Jamie Vardy made it into the symbolic Premier League eleven, scoring 24 goals and providing eight assists in 36 matches."
