J. Wilshere told how he ended up at the "Arsenal" club © JumpStory

Having spent the majority of his career at London's "Arsenal" club, Jack Wilshere failed to fully realize his potential due to frequent injuries. Currently defending the honor of "West Ham United," the central midfielder shared a rather unusual story of how he decided to accept an offer from "Arsenal" when he was just a child. "I was playing for the 'Luton' children's team and during one match, a referee who worked for the 'Arsenal' club observed me. After the game, he approached my father and said he would like to see me in the 'Arsenal' ranks. There was no talk of a trial, I immediately received an offer to join the team. It was quite strange, but honestly, I didn't want to go there. The road to London wasn't long, but then my father would have to finish work early. He didn't pressure me at all. I really didn't know what to do. I remember vividly, I was just nine years old and one day my dad came to pick me up from the park. He said that today was the last day I could join 'Arsenal.' My response was something like: 'Screw it, I'm going to 'Arsenal.' Everything else is already known to you,'" - Wilshere said in an interview on the "Lockdown tactics" podcast. The Englishman managed to play 198 matches within the ranks of "Arsenal," scoring 14 goals and providing 30 assists.
