The Confederations Cup tournament started for the Chilean national team with a tough victory over Cameroon's eleven.
The South American champions had scored a goal in the first half, but after a video review, the match referee decided not to count it.
However, at the end of the match, the Chileans received compensation - although the assistant referee flagged offside, the VAR system helped the South Americans score a second goal.
This innovation became the main topic of the press conference after the match.
Chilean coach Juan Antonio Pizzi said:
"I believe that this system needs time. If I am correct, for now, it's only experimental and therefore difficult for us, as we participate in a different football system.
At the end of the first half, we could have been leading 1-0, but later the result was level, so the players were disappointed.
It is true that it caused stress, but only because we are not used to it. We have to wait and see how everything develops.
Of course, it may have influenced our game in the second half. The main thing is the players' feelings during the match. Even if the right decision is made, it affects the footballers," Pizzi said.
Arturo Vidal added: "At first, it was difficult to accept, but it is fair and will be beneficial in the future."
