Today, the managers agreed on 18-year-old James Milner's transfer. It is believed that Leeds club should receive up to £5.25 million for the player.
For Milner, who signed a five-year contract with his new club, it was very difficult to leave his hometown.
"There has never been such a loyal player in our club as James. He has always been a great supporter of our club," said Milner's agent.
But as known, Leeds is currently facing tough times and needs to avoid bankruptcy. So, the club has to sell its players in order to survive. So we understand this decision and hope that the money received for James will help the club survive," continued Milner's agent.
When asked about the new team player, the head coach of Newcastle United, Sir Bobby Robson, said: "I understand that it's difficult for him to leave his first club. But for this player, it's only beneficial. He will have opportunities to play in the highest English football league and European tournaments."
