Japan secured a place in the World Championship

The Japan national team swiftly achieved its set goal.

The team from the Asian country was the first, not counting the hosts, to secure a place in the upcoming World Cup.

Japan's success was guaranteed by a 2:0 victory against Bahrain in the AFC qualifying group.

This will be the eighth attempt for the Asian team to shine at the World Cup.

So far, the Japanese have managed to reach the round of 16 four times.

In the last championship in Qatar, Japan won against Spain and Germany in the group stage, but lost to Croatia in the round of 16 after a penalty shootout.
