In the second place in the ended French "Ligue 1" championship, the club announced that they have extended the contract with forward Jean-Claude Darcheville for another season.
His previous contract with the French team ended after this season and it was thought that the player would look for a new club. Darcheville was actively interested in the new Glasgow "Rangers" coach, Frenchman Paul Le Guen, but the footballer ultimately decided to stay at "Bordeaux".
Darcheville commented on his choice by saying that "Bordeaux" will play in the UEFA Champions League next season and he wants to test his skills in the strongest European club football tournament. On Wednesday, the player signed an official contract obliging him to stay with the team for another year.
"Jean-Claude Darcheville and Bordeaux have signed a new contract, under which the player will stay in our club for another year," an official representative of Bordeaux told the club's website.
