Danish national team striker Jonas Dahl Tomasson will play in the team in the upcoming season - although it was expected that he would move to "Benfica" in Lisbon, the Milan club officially announced the player's transfer to a German team.
The 28-year-old Dane will still have to undergo a medical examination and then sign a four-year contract with "Stuttgart," whose amount paid by the Italian club for the player is not disclosed, but is estimated to be around 7.5 million euros.
"Stuttgart" was my desired team, I am very happy because the move to Stuttgart is now ideal for me. The club is ambitious, and the Bundesliga, with only a year left until the World Cup, is a great sporting challenge for me," said Tomasson.
"Jonas Dahl Tomasson is an experienced striker in international matches, he has proven what a great player he is in the Italian "Serie A" championship. We are delighted to acquire him, and we are confident that he will truly strengthen the team," said the team's coach G. Trapattoni.
Tomasson in his previous career has represented clubs such as "Heerenveen," "Newcastle," and "Feyenoord," from which he moved to "Milan" in 2002. In Italy, the player did not have a place in the main lineup, but scored 22 goals in over 75 matches. There was no place for him in Milan's team after the arrival of C. Vieri, and the club is also trying to acquire another striker, A. Gilardino.
